When To Use This

Use this when a business owner is finishing the first-time setup checklist for a new Hello Sniff business.

Before You Start

  • Sign in as the business owner.
  • Have the business profile, services, property areas, hours, logo, and staff invite details ready.
  • Confirm staff email addresses before sending invites.
  • Keep migration, billing, trial, and support promises out of the setup article unless they come from an approved business source.

Setup Overview

The setup wizard walks the owner through the main parts of the business profile before the app becomes ready for day-to-day work.

Start from the current setup step shown in the app. Choose a business style, add business profile details, select or create services, add property areas such as rooms or fields, set operating hours, add branding, invite staff if ready, and review the final confirmation page.

If the team is not ready to invite staff yet, the owner can finish the required setup first and return to access management later from the Access page. See Manage Access and Invites.

Some setup steps can be skipped from the wizard. Skipping lets the owner keep moving, but it does not mean the business has finished that item. Review skipped items before going live.

Setup Guide After The Wizard

After the first-time wizard is complete, the Setup guide appears inside the business app for remaining launch work. It shows progress, highlights the next incomplete item, links back to setup areas when an item has a setup page, and lets owners or managers mark some checklist items done.

If the Setup guide says it cannot load, refresh and try again before treating the checklist as complete. If marking an item done fails, use the visible error state and retry later instead of changing the article to describe the raw error code.

After Setup

  • Completed setup opens the main business dashboard.
  • If setup was already completed, Hello Sniff opens the main business app instead of restarting the setup checklist.
  • Profile, hours, customer onboarding, services, billing, website, access, and other settings can be reviewed later from Manage Business Settings.
  • Logo updates after setup are handled from Business profile settings. Visual style changes remain tied to the setup style flow at the current baseline.

When Setup Does Not Save

  • If a step save fails, correct the visible validation error and retry.
  • If setup data appears blank, refresh and confirm the business context loaded.
  • If staff cannot continue setup, confirm whether the business owner still needs to finish the owner-only setup flow.
  • If the wizard is complete but launch work remains, open the Setup guide from the business app and use the visible next-step card.
  • Do not promise migration help, trial terms, support timing, or billing behavior beyond approved business copy.
