When To Use This

Use this article when the customer portal says Business link needed before you can sign in, activate an invitation, or reset a password.

Before You Start

  • Use the portal link provided by your dog-care business.
  • If you came from an old bookmark, try the newest link from the business.
  • Do not send passwords, invitation links, reset links, or private account details when asking for help.

What The Page Means

The Business link needed page means the portal cannot tell which business you are trying to reach. This usually points to the portal link itself, not your password or account status.

This can happen if a link is incomplete, copied incorrectly, saved from an older bookmark, or opened from a generic portal address.

Close the current browser tab and reopen the portal link from the business's email, website, message, or customer instructions.

If you copied the link into your browser, copy it again from the original message. Make sure you did not miss any part of the link or add extra spaces.

If It Happened After An Invitation Or Reset Email

Go back to the newest invitation or password reset email from the business and open the link from that message again.

Do not start another password reset while Business link needed is showing. The portal needs to identify the business before sign-in, activation, or password reset troubleshooting can continue.

Contact The Business

If the page still appears, contact the business and ask for the current customer portal link.

You can tell the business that the portal says Business link needed. If they ask which link you used, share only a redacted version of the web address or a screenshot that hides private details.

What Happens Next

After the correct business portal opens, continue with sign-in, invitation activation, or password reset from that page.

If the business confirms that your link is correct but the page still says Business link needed, the business may need to review its portal setup or ask support to investigate the link.

Troubleshooting

  • If you opened the portal from a search result or generic link, use the link from your business instead.
  • If you used a bookmark, replace it after the correct portal opens.
  • If the issue appears after an invitation, ask the business to resend the invitation.
  • If the issue appears after a password reset email, open the newest reset email from the business.
  • If you copied a link from another household or business, ask your business for the correct customer portal link.
  • If you work for the business, use the business app instead of the customer portal.
