When To Use This

Use this page to review, add, edit, archive, or restore services after setup. The Services page also supports class-style sessions for eligible training, evaluation, or consult services.

Before You Start

  • Sign in to the staff app.
  • Use a staff account that has permission to manage services for service or session changes.
  • Confirm your pricing, booking mode, archiving, class-session, and customer-facing service policy before changing services.
  • See Set Up Services for the first-time setup version of this workflow.

Services Page Overview

The Services page groups service records by care and boarding, grooming, training and assessment, and other service types. Review each service name, type, booking mode, base price, and active or archived state before making changes.

Staff without service-management access may still be able to review read-only service and session information. If management actions are missing, an owner or admin can review access on the Access page.

Service Changes

Use service-management controls to add a service, edit a service name or price, archive an active service, or restore an inactive service. Confirm customer-facing pricing, booking, and availability expectations before saving changes.

Whether an archived service changes existing bookings, customer visibility, refunds, or scheduling rules depends on your business's setup, so it isn't guaranteed here.

Per-Service Settings

Depending on the service type and plan, owners and admins may see additional per-service controls on the Services page:

  • Grooming appointment slots for grooming services — set the appointment length

and how many appointments can run at the same time.

  • Daily capacity — limit how many bookings a service can take in a day.
  • Booking windows and requirements — set when a service can be booked and any

per-service booking prerequisites.

  • Reservation add-ons — link existing services as choices on a parent

service, set a separate add-on price and scheduling, decide whether customers see each option, and set the choice requirement as Optional or Required for every stay date.

  • Cancellation policy — set a cancellation deadline for a service, and

optionally a fee after that deadline.

  • Service plans — create and manage plans for a service.

Adjust these only after confirming your intended setup. Each control describes what it changes on screen. Any fee, deposit, or refund amounts or policy are set and explained by your business, not defined here.

Reservation Add-Ons

Open a boarding service and use Reservation add-ons to manage its choices. Each option links an existing service, so a boarding-specific price does not replace that service's standalone price.

Use Choice requirements once for the category:

  • Optional lets the person booking skip that category.
  • Required for every stay date requires exactly one compatible option on

every date in the stay.

Required mode is unavailable when any active option in the group lacks per-date pricing or specific-date scheduling. Changing the choice requirement updates the whole group; you do not need to repeat the setting on each option.

Cancellation Policy

Open the Cancellation policy control on a service to set how far ahead of a booking's start a customer may cancel for free. Use the quick window buttons (for example, 48 hours, 72 hours, or 1 week), or type your own number of hours into Free until. The panel previews the deadline in plain language as you change it.

Setting a cancellation window creates a deadline: after the deadline, a customer can no longer cancel that booking themselves from their portal. A past-deadline change has to be handled by your staff. This applies even when no fee is charged.

To also charge for a late cancellation, turn on Charge a fee after the deadline and choose a fixed amount or a percent of the service price. When a fee is set, a late cancellation made by staff can propose that fee for review or auto-charge it, depending on your billing settings. The fee amount and how it is applied are set and explained by your business, not defined here.

Service plans define the monthly memberships and packages that can be used later. To put a family on a monthly program, create or activate the plan here, then open the family in Billing and use Memberships and packages to assign it.

Class-Style Sessions

Training, evaluation, or consult services may include scheduled sessions. Add a session only after confirming the service, date, start time, end time, and max capacity.

Cancel a scheduled session only after you have confirmed your customer communication plan and any booking or payment follow-up.

When Service Controls Are Missing

  • If add, edit, archive, restore, session, or cancellation controls are missing, ask an owner or admin to review service-management access on the Access page. See Manage Access and Invites.
  • If service creation fails, add a service name and retry.
  • If session scheduling fails, confirm service, date, start time, and end time are present.
  • If an archive, restore, or cancellation decision affects customers, get approval before acting.
