When To Use This

Use this page when staff need the daily operations board: bookings, attendance, rooms, fields, staff coverage, shift checklist status, and quick dog actions.

Before You Start

  • Sign in to the business app.
  • Confirm the date in the schedule header before taking action.
  • Use a staff member who has attendance access if you need to check dogs in, check dogs out, move dogs, or correct attendance.
  • Follow business policy before making no-show, attendance-correction, readiness, cancellation, or customer-communication decisions.

Today View Board Overview

The daily operations board groups the selected day into waiting arrivals, live rooms or fields, checked-out dogs, and the all-dogs directory. Start by checking the date and summary tiles so staff know which work is current.

The names are easy to mix up. This daily board is listed as Today View in the sidebar, appears as the Today tab on mobile, and its page header reads Today. The separate Schedule item in the sidebar opens the Bookings board, which is a different page and is covered further down. Older Today and Operations links still land on this same daily board.

Date And Summary Controls

Use previous day, Today, or next day controls to choose the operating date. Four summary tiles sit under the date row — Waiting to arrive, Checked in, Checked out, and Staff today — and selecting one jumps you down the page. Waiting to arrive jumps to the waiting list and Checked out jumps to the checked-out list. Checked in and Staff today both jump to the same Fields and rooms section, so do not expect Staff today to open a separate staffing view. A tile only jumps somewhere when that list is actually on the page: the waiting list is hidden on a date with nothing scheduled, and the checked-out list appears only once at least one dog has been checked out. Review the tiles before opening individual dogs.

If the board does not match expected work, confirm the date first, then check search and area filters.

Rooms, Fields, And Dog Cards

Use area cards to focus on a room or field. Select a dog card to open the schedule side sheet, review day-of context, and use actions that apply to that dog.

Use search by dog, family, or service when the dog is not visible. If more context is needed, open the full dog profile from the side sheet.

A dog card marked Demo comes from the example data a business can load while setting up, not from a real customer booking. Treat those cards as practice records. When you no longer want them on the board, turn them off from Example data under Settings. See Setup and Onboarding.

Attendance Actions

The daily board can show check-in, checkout, room or field movement, no-show or absent corrections, complete-visit correction, vaccination context, and bulk checkout controls when they apply.

Staff without attendance access can review the board but may not be able to change attendance. If the business has a separate policy for who can correct attendance, follow that policy before changing a state.

Create, Edit, and Review Bookings (Bookings Board)

These controls live on the Bookings board, not on the daily operations board described above. The Bookings board is the sidebar item named Schedule, and both its page header and its browser tab read "Schedule," which is a common source of confusion. Creating, editing, and reviewing booking requests all happen there.

With the right access, staff use the Bookings board to create a new booking for a family and dog from the new-booking drawer and to edit an existing booking. The drawer adapts to the service type: a grooming service asks for an appointment slot, a boarding service asks for a Drop-off date and a Pickup date, and other services ask for a date and a time.

Booking Requests Queue

The Bookings board header has a Booking requests button. A small count sits next to it only while requests are waiting, so no number means nothing is pending. The button switches the board to a Booking requests view at the same address, with two lists:

  • Waiting on review holds each request until someone approves or declines it. A row

shows the dog, family, service, requested date, when it was requested, and the stay end date for a boarding stay.

  • Recently approved lists bookings approved in the last 14 days that have not

started yet.

The Booking requests button is part of the standard product, so it should be there for every business. If it is missing, reload the page first. If it still does not appear, look further down the Bookings board for a Requests waiting on review section instead, or contact support.

With booking-edit access you see Approve and Decline on each waiting request. Decline opens a short form with an Internal reason box followed by Confirm decline. The reason is required, so the decline stays blocked until you enter one. Without booking-edit access you see a Review only marker instead of the buttons, and these actions are also unavailable while the business has no active plan. Back to Schedule returns to the board.

Customers can separately ask to move an upcoming booking. Those arrive in a Change requests list on the Bookings board itself, which stays hidden while nothing is pending; some changes apply automatically and others wait for staff approval. If that list does appear with a note saying the change requests could not be loaded, refresh the page rather than assuming nothing is waiting.

Add-Ons On Boarding Stays

When the selected service is boarding, both the new-booking drawer and the booking edit form ask for the Drop-off date and Pickup date. If the business has set up add-ons for that boarding service, a Reservation add-ons panel appears below those dates; if no add-ons are set up for the service, you will not see the panel at all.

In the panel, pick an add-on and then choose when it applies. The timing choices are Every day, Certain days, Arrival day, and Departure day, and an Apply on chooser appears only when the business allows more than one of them for that add-on. When only one timing is allowed, no chooser appears and that timing is used automatically.

Some add-ons are set up to require a choice for every day of the stay instead. For those, the panel looks different: instead of a single pick-and-apply choice, it shows a Choose one option for each day of the stay layout with a separate option list for each stay date, and no timing choices or Apply on chooser at all. Use Use one choice for every day when the same option applies throughout the stay, then change individual dates only when needed. This is expected for that kind of add-on, not a broken panel.

If you change the stay dates, choices that still fall within the stay remain selected. A newly added date stays unanswered until you choose its care, and an option used only on dates you removed disappears rather than leaving a hidden invalid choice.

Estimated Total On Boarding Stays

An Estimated total section sits below the add-on panel, but it does not belong to that panel. It appears whenever the stay covers at least one night, so you will see it on a boarding service that has no add-ons set up at all. It does not appear when the drop-off and pickup dates are the same day, because there is no night to price.

The estimate is for the whole stay, not for add-ons alone: it lists the boarding nights at the service price, then each selected add-on, and totals all of those lines together. Add-on lines show the exact selected date or compact date range. The stay is already in that number, so do not add the stay price on top of it.

Treat the figure as a starting estimate, not a quote. It covers only the nights and the selected add-ons. It does not include any deposit, cancellation fee, no-show fee, discount, or tax the business applies, and it does not reflect anything the business charges outside those lines. The section itself notes that availability and the final total are confirmed by staff, so confirm the final amount with the family rather than reading this number back as what they will pay.

Special-Hours Exceptions

The new-booking drawer also includes a Special-hours exception reason field. Leave it blank for normal bookings; only fill it in when staff deliberately book a time that falls outside the business's published special hours, so the reason for that exception is recorded with the booking.

For the full process, see Manage Booking Requests. Follow the business's process for approving changes; this section describes the visible controls only, not cancellation or fee policy.

When Today View Looks Wrong

  • If the board is empty, confirm the date and search filters first.
  • If an action is missing, first confirm the dog is in the right visible attendance state for that action.
  • If an action should be available but is still missing, ask an owner or admin to review attendance access on the Access page. See Manage Access and Invites.
  • If schedule data fails to load, refresh and confirm the business still has services, dogs, families, bookings, attendances, and property areas available.
  • Attendance corrections follow the business's own policy; the steps above cover only the controls you see on screen.
